Training
At least two training events are held each year for new organisers called "Getting Started". These events are run by experienced PDP organisers as an introduction to the processes, procedures and skills needed to execute PDP placements. There is also a practitioners' forum each year. Dates are available from the national office. Places on these courses are subsidised by the DfES contract.

Material and Resources
The following materials have been developed by the National Support Group

Professional Development Placement Co-ordinators Handbook - MS word format
This is a useful resource for both new and more experienced practitioners and contains practical advice, guidance material and sample paperwork.

Linking PDPs and Work Experience - pdf file (2135KB)
This flyer demonstrates how a placement can be used to investigate work experience opportunities for students and provide closer employer links

Work-Related Learning and PDPs - pdf file (86KB)
This flyer demonstrates how the placement opportunity can be used to investigate work-related learning examples to support teaching and learning.

Enterprise Education and PDPs - pdf file (51KB)
This flyer shows how a placement within a business can enhance a teacher's business and enterprise knowledge and act as a stimulus for student resources and activities.

The National Support Group has also collated a range of case studies and developed an "Ideas Generator" resource pack. Copies of this are available on CD Rom through your regional representatives, and are also available to download from this site. Each case study contains ideas of how similar placements could be set up at local level. The sector specific PDP case studies link to the first diploma lines. PDF files for Ideas Generator
